What is Investment casting?

Investment casting, also known as lost-wax casting or precision casting, is a manufacturing process that involves the production of metal parts through the casting of molten metal into precision molds. In this casting method, a ceramic shell is created around a wax pattern of the desired metal part, which is then heated to remove the wax pattern and leave behind the ceramic shell. The ceramic shell is then filled with molten metal, typically at a temperature significantly higher than the melting point of the metal.
